Award ceremony 2015 in Visual Arts

The 6th annual award ceremony was dedicated this year in Visual Arts and it was a great success. That was on 8th October 2015, at the Presidential Palace.

The Prize was awarded by the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Anastasiades to the artist Christodoulos Panayiotou.

NEMITSAS PRIZE 2015 in VISUAL ARTS

With great pleasure we announce that the International Experts’ Committee has selected Mr. Christodoulos Panayiotou for THE NEMITSAS PRIZE 2015 in VISUAL ARTS. The Foundation’s Board of Directors at its meeting on Saturday 18/7/2015, confirmed this decision unanimously, with the following reference:-

« The Nemitsas Prize 2015 is awarded to Christodoulos Panayiotou for his internationally recognized, wide-ranging achievements in Visual Arts, and specifically on the identification and uncovering of hidden narratives in visual records of time. His work is subtle and clever, touching History, Archaeology and Politics. With his traces, fragments and manufactured objects, he is widely recognized for his success in telling stories and alluding to past events. His work has been presented in both solo and group exhibitions in prestigious centers of art worldwide».

The award ceremony will take place in the Presidential Palace on Thursday 8th of October 2015, and the Prize shall be awarded by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Anastasiades.

Date of the Award of the Nemitsas Prize 2015 in Visual Arts

We are very pleased to announce that the Office of the President of the Republic of Cyprus has determined Thursday 8th of October 2015 as the date of the award of the Nemitsas Prize 2015 in Visual Arts.

The award ceremony shall take place in the Presidential Palace, and the Prize shall be awarded by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Anastasiades.

Evaluation of Applications/Nominations for The Nemitsas Prize 2015 in Visual Arts

The deadline for the submission of Applications/Nominations for the Nemitsas Prize 2015 in Visual Arts completed on the 10th of May, 2014, after the 10-day extension given.

Upon the end of the deadline, the Foundation’s Secretariat forwarded all received applications electronically to the International Experts’ Committee for their evaluation and the selection of the candidate or the candidates’ for award.

The whole procedure, including the validations of the selection, will have been completed by the 18th July, 2015.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to a number of requests for extension, we are happy to grant, with the consent of the Prize Committee, a 10-days extension of the deadline for the submission of candidacies for the Nemitsas Prize 2015 in Visual Arts to MAY 10, 2015.

6th NEMITSAS Prize 2015

The Board of Directors announces that the NEMITSAS Prize 2015 will be awarded
in VISUAL ARTS

The Prize will be awarded by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cyprus at the Presidential Palace around early October 2015. (The precise date will be announced later.)

Applications or Nominations will be accepted from 1st April, 2015 through 30th April, 2015. Electronic submission (via email) is preferred. A typed A4 letter is also acceptable. To be considered, it must be received no later than 12.00 noon on the 30th April 2015.

The Prize consists of:

The Award Certificate
The Gold Medal
Monetary Award of €30.000.

(In case more than one applicant is selected, the Monetary Award will be split equally among the Laureates.)
